OpenX Files Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google Over Alleged Ad Market Manipulation
OpenX has launched an antitrust lawsuit against Google, accusing the tech giant of employing unfair tactics to stifle competition in the digital advertising space. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, aligns with ongoing actions by the Department of Justice. Google stands accused of leveraging its dominant market position to distort advertising auctions, harming rivals and publishers alike.
The 88-page filing alleges systematic suppression of innovation and competition, with OpenX claiming Google's practices have degraded product quality across the industry. This legal challenge follows a April court ruling that found Google unlawfully monopolized key segments of the ad tech market. Judge Leonie Brinkema's decision highlighted concerns over Google's vertical integration of publisher tools, advertiser services, and exchange platforms.
